IOSH Managing Safely (4 Days)

Who is this course suitable for?

This course is recommended for headteachers, principals and staff who will be co-ordinating the management of health and safety in schools or colleges

Course Overview

IOSH Managing Safely is a nationally recognised, certificated course for managers and supervisors. The course is designed to provide the basic skills which are required to effectively manage health and safety in any workplace. As the course is designed for all industries the presentation itself is not school specific, the trainers will however provide supplementary examples which are school-based where practicable.

The course involves delegates sitting a written Assessment (which consists of multiple choice and short question answers) and submitting a project within two weeks of the last day of the course. The oneSource Health and Safety Team offer the condensed 4-day version of the course. Delegates are required to attend a minimum number of teaching hours, which means they must attend all of the sessions in order to be eligible to sit the assessment. The course is normally run in two blocks of two days on consecutive weeks.

Health and Safety Awareness for Managers (½ Day)

Who is this course suitable for?

This course is recommended for managers and supervisors who do not need the level of knowledge & skills included in the IOSH Managing Safely course (e.g. heads of department, project leads etc.)

Course Overview

This course is designed to make managers and supervisors in schools and colleges aware of their responsibilities in relation to health & safety.

Delegates will learn about safety management systems, why they should manage health and safety in colleges and schools, recent school/college case law, hazard and risk, and the causes of accidents.

There is a short written test at the end of this course. Successful delegates will be issued with a certificate
