IOSH Managing Safely e-learning Courses
We now offer e-learning versions of IOSH's Managing Safely and Managing Safely Refresher courses. Details on the content of the two courses is provided in the descriptions below.
IOSH Managing Safely e-learning Course

WHAT TO EXPECT
- Engaging, mobile-compatible audio and video learning content written by health and safety subject matter experts;
- Interactive activities and challenges that relate to the learner’s own workplace to reinforce key learning points;
- External resources including podcasts and case studies;
- Split into digestible learning ‘units’;
- Regular opportunities for the learner to check their knowledge;
- Regular email reminders to help the learner monitor their progress and ensure they don’t fall behind;
- Covers international and UK legislation. Successful delegates will receive a Managing Safely® certificate.
The online Managing Safely® course is aimed at managers and supervisors in any sector and any organisation, and covers all of the main health and safety issues. The course takes approximately 18 hours to complete and a period of 6 months is allowed for completion.
Managing Safely® is highly engaging, with several interactive modules including video, animation, gamification, podcasts and handson activities, as well as a variety of additional learning resources such as external links and articles. The course structure reflects the IOSH syllabus and is easy to follow, providing a logical workflow to aid successful completion.
The course is delivered and tested online. A project is completed by the learner on site and then marked by our IOSH certificated consultant. Delegates who successfully complete the online and practical assessments at the end of the course will be awarded an IOSH certificate in Managing Safely®.

IOSH Managing Safely Refresher e-learning Course
COURSE CONTENT
The online Managing Safely Refresher course is aimed at managers and supervisors who have previously undertaken the full IOSH Managing Safely course. This course will refresh the learner’s knowledge of key areas of managing safely, with an emphasis on the Plan-Do-Check-Act approach to health and safety management systems. Managing Safely Refresher is delivered and tested online, takes approximately 6 hours to complete and has a 6-month completion requirement.
Completion of the course is measured by successful completion of the online assessment. The course is highly engaging, with several interactive modules including video, animation, gamification, podcasts and handson activities, as well as a variety of additional learning resources such as external links and articles. The course structure reflects the IOSH syllabus and is easy to follow, providing alogical workflow to aid successful completion.

Other e-learning Courses
The oneSource Health and Safety Team is always looking to meet the needs of its customers. Following requests for more accessible training for topics specific to schools and academies the Team is developing a range of e-learning courses to meet these needs. To improve accessibility these courses can be purchased as single licences rather than as part of a package. The first of the courses is listed below. Further courses are currently being developed.
Health & Safety Awareness for Governors and Trustees
Completion of this course will provide an insight into the role which governors/trustees play in ensuring the health and safety of students and staff in their school/academy trust. It was developed to help schools & academies ensure that their governors and trustees start to develop the competence needed to effectively undertake their role within the establishment's safety management system.
The course is primarily aimed at the school/trust’s chairman & health & safety governors/trustees; but completion would benefit any school governor/trustee to understand the importance and potential impacts of their decision making.
Completion of the course will enable delegates to begin to develop the competencies they need in order for them to be able to fully fulfil their role and to protect themselves from being prosecuted under health and safety legislation. Topics included in the Course:
- Why manage health & safety?
- Management Frameworks;
- Safety Management Systems;
- Legislation;
- The Governors Role.
Completion of the course takes approximately 30 minutes.
